A child incarnation of the artist โ€“ she is a depiction of what I used to be like as a child when going through daily abuse at the hands of my peers. Her design is inspired by the outfit I wore to the classroom picture on fourth grade.

SYMBOLIC VALUES

๐Ÿ“ Things the character symbolizes when present in an illustration. The Kid symbolizes past me in my childhood, the real me I was always supposed to be.

ROLE IN STORY

๐Ÿ“ The role the character plays in illustrations. Every time the Kid is present in illustrations, her role is to be little me, the child I once was.

ASSIGNED SYMBOL

๐Ÿ“ A symbol assigned to a character based on their values and other attributes. The Kidโ€™s assigned symbol is BELL, the choker around her neck, her most prized possession.

ASSIGNED FOOD

๐Ÿ“ A food item assigned to a character based on their character traits and symbolic values. The Kidโ€™s food item is BANANA, because she is just as sweet as she is easy to bruise and damage - like a banana.

STATUS

๐Ÿ“ An indication of whether the character is based on one single human being, a group of several people, or abstract concepts. The Kidโ€™s status is ALIVE, because she represents me as my child self, very much alive.
